Ultradent Products recently added Unicore Accessory posts to the company’s Unicore Post and Drill System.
The posts are designed to fill voids in the root canal, improving the overall strength of the post and core unit, according to a press release. They can be placed in the root canal alongside a master post, such as the Unicore Post. Adding accessory posts allows for enhanced adaptation in flared and oval canals, eliminating the need for an additional drilling procedure.
The posts feature a tapered shaft for dentin conservation and enhanced adaptation in flared canals, minimizing the gap formation as well as polymerization shrinkage. They’re said to be stronger than composite resins, providing reinforcement of the restoration both inside and outside. The radiopaque posts also feature high translucency for optimal esthetics and light conductivity.
