New Dental Product: ENAMIC multiColor CAD/CAM Block from VITA

VITA recently introduced the ENAMIC multiColor CAD/CAM block.

The block is an extension of the company’s ENAMIC dual-network ceramic and is well suited for posterior, anterior and implant restorations, as well as veneers, according to a press release. It can be milled either chairside or in the laboratory and features an integrated shade gradient for long-lasting esthetic results.

The natural color gradient includes six finely nuanced layers with a smooth transition from cervical to incisal edge, providing a natural play of light. The ceramic structure is infused with polymer to deliver the same material properties of natural dentition. ENAMIC multiColor’s integrated “crack stop” feature offers clinically proven force absorption for enhanced load capacity and fracture resistance.

No furnace is required for post processing, so the restoration can be seated as soon as polishing is complete. It can be milled as thin as .2 mm, preserving more patient tooth structure as part of a minimally invasive treatment approach. It can be used with a number of chairside and lab milling systems, including CEREC, inLab and Ceramill, as well as Roland CAD/CAM machines using a universal mandrel.

The material is available in a high translucency 12x14x18 mm block, and in VITA’s proprietary 3D-Master shades 1M1, 1M2, 2M2, 3M2 and 4M2.
