New Dental Product: EXTARO 300 Microscope from ZEISS

ZEISS recently introduced the EXTARO 300 microscope, which offers augmented visualization, efficient treatment and more comfortable working conditions.

The device combines caries detection technology with optical magnification to allow for the efficient repair of caries-infected fillings, according to a press release. The Fluorescence Mode supports identification of decayed tooth tissue in previously treated cavities.

The Fluorescence Mode is also designed to distinguish between natural hard tooth tissue and the most common dental composite resins. This helps clinicians target infected areas quickly, saving chair time.

The device also simplifies the tooth restoration workflow. Its TrueLight Mode provides sufficient time to finish complex modeling tasks by preventing composite from curing prematurely under the microscope. Unlike orange filters, the optimized color balance allows clinicians to identify relevant dental tissues.

The ZEISS Connect App makes it possible to inform patients about their treatment needs and results. The digital workflow facilitates clinical case documentation and is integrated into the dental office.

All capture and visual modes can be activated by pushing a button. Dentists can adjust the working distance range with one finger.
