3Shape recently introduced TRIOS 3 Wireless, a wireless version of the TRIOS intraoral scanner that connects via Wi-Fi to laptops and the TRIOS cart. The product was launched during IDS in Germany.
The TRIOS 3 Wireless wand can be used to navigate between scan pages on the PC, so there’s no need to touch the keyboard or mouse when scanning a patient, according to a press release. The scanner features an easy battery exchange for non-stop scanning and comes with three long-lasting rechargeable batteries.
The wireless version features the same speed, accuracy and advanced technologies as the TRIOS 3. It offers intraoral scanning in lifelike colors, built-in shade measurement and an intraoral camera, as well as HD photos. It can be used to scan for removable partial dentures, temporary crowns, virtual diagnostic wax-ups and post core cases.
The scanner seamlessly integrates with a variety of implant manufacturers, orthodontic treatment providers like Invisalign, practice management systems and select milling machines and 3D printers for same-day dentistry.
3Shape also announced other new solutions during IDS: TRIOS Patient Monitoring, 3Shape TRIOS Design Studio, TRIOS Patient Specific Motion and 3Shape TRIOS Implant Studio.
TRIOS Patient Monitoring follows developments in a patient’s dental status to gain insight for preventative care. The tool compares intraoral scans taken over time, tracking and qualifying gingival retraction, bruxism and teeth movement, while highlighting changes to the mouth that might require action. It will be available as part of the TRIOS workflow in upcoming upgrades.
3Shape TRIOS Design Studio is the company’s new same-day dentistry solution. It’s built with the same engine that powers the company’s CAD/CAM restorative design software. Doctors can choose to design and mill their own crowns or cloud-share designs with dental labs. The TRIOS Design Studio is verified and completely integrated with various milling machines for smooth connectivity and seamless crown production.
TRIOS Patient Specific Motion enables doctors to scan and record a patient’s articulation, enabling the restorative-design technology to adjust the restoration based on articulation. This makes it possible to achieve optimal esthetics and fit before the restoration is seated.
3Shape TRIOS Implant Studio creates a straightforward and predictable workflow, taking doctors step-by-step through scanning, planning, designing and printing. The integrated workflow between TRIOS, Implant Studio and supported 3D printers makes it possible to create and print surgical guides in house in hours instead of weeks.
