Dentsply Sirona recently released several new endodontic products: 3D Endo Software, the X-Smart IQ Endodontic Motor, ProTaper Next Rotary Files and the R2C Treatment Solution.
The 3D Endo Software, jointly developed by Dentsply Sirona Endodontics and Dentsply Sirona Imaging, is dedicated to more predictable endodontic treatment planning, according to a press release. The software makes it possible for clinicians to identify the specifics of a tooth root treatment, visualize the canal network in 3D and choose the right files from the built-in file database. Practitioners can explain the initial position and the respective treatment to patients by using a planning report or the software itself.
The X-Smart IQ is reportedly the first endodontic motor controlled by an iOS Apple application. The device offers an education module for patients, a customizable file sequence and treatment data capture. The slim, balanced, cordless handpiece enables freedom of movement and comes equipped with a miniature head contra-angle. It also features regular app updates. A new version of the Endo IQ App will be released at IDS. The app offers usability improvements as well as an updated file library with the introduction of the new WaveOne Gold Glider.
Designed with the same Gold heat treatment as WaveOne Gold, the WaveOne Gold Glider is said to be the first reciprocating glide path file that optimizes the preparation of the canal for the primary shaping file. The gold family is compatible with X-Smart Plus and the X-Smart IQ.
The ProTaper Next rotary files feature a swaggering movement that offers the flexibility needed for more curved, narrow canals as well as enlarged space for debris hauling. Recommended even for difficult clinical cases, ProTaper Next is an efficient solution for endo practitioners seeking a versatile system.
The new integrated treatment solution “R2C – The Root to Crown Solution,” in conjunction with the treatment planning steps, provides a guided pathway of quality products from cavity access to the final coronal restoration. These products incorporate the latest technologies, such as alloys with improved flexibility for endodontic files with higher resistance to cyclic fatigue, a dental adhesive with Active-Guard Technology and restorative materials that provide optimal cavity adaptation and a tight coronal seal.
