New Dental Products: DWP-80S Dental 3D Printer and the DWX-52DC Milling System with Automatic Disc Changer from Roland

Roland recently launched two products under its new DGSHAPE brand: the DWP-80S dental 3D printer and the DWX-52DC milling system with Automatic Disc Changer.

The DWP-80S dental 3D printer features user-friendly Quick Denta software that is well suited for creating 3D printed prosthesis such as custom trays, denture base plates and partial frameworks for casting, according to a press release. Components can be printed in three steps using the pre-configured workflow wizard. The digital production method determines the way components are positioned for printing, creates optimal layout of support points and adjusts for material shrinkage. The printer also features a large (80 mm x 80 mm x 80 mm) work area.

The DWX-52DC features a new Automatic Disc Changer (ADC) that holds up to six discs, allowing labs to maximize productivity by milling precision dental restorations unattended. A variety of indications, including copings, crowns, full bridges and abutments, can be produced simultaneously using a range of materials. The built-in 15-station Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) replaces tools without interruption for enhanced efficiency. The Intelligent Tool Control (ITC) function makes it possible to automatically swap out used burs. The Virtual Machine Panel (VPanel) software provides easy production and device monitoring.

Its sturdy and efficient ball screw-driven 5-axis machining enables the DWX-52DC to support complex restorations with undercuts. It also eliminates air control errors during milling by automatically changing air volume based on the CAM material used. Users can choose from a wide selection of materials, including multiple zirconia shades, wax, PMMA, composite resin, PEEK, gypsum, Chrome Cobalt sintered metal, and fiber-reinforced resin.

The mill is easy to use and features an open architecture that makes it easy to integrate into existing workflow.
