New Dental Product: XP-3D Shaper from Brasseler USA

Brasseler USA recently introduced the XP-3D Shaper, a new endodontic debridement instrument.

The instrument features the company’s MaxWire technology, which allows it to expand when exposed to body temperature, according to a press release. Once an adequate glide path is established, the instrument can clean the entire canal without the need for multiple files.

The XP-3D Shaper has a small flexible core (#30/.01) that is resistant to cyclic fatigue. The serpentine design reportedly allows the instrument to gently debride the inner walls of the root canal without the stress associated with NiTi files.

It also features a free-floating adaptive core that makes it possible for the smaller central core to move freely and adapt to the canal’s natural anatomy. This creates enhanced turbulence for better irrigation.

The shapers are packaged in single-use sets of three files for easy handling. There’s also a sterile application for every case. They can be used with any endodontic handpiece
