Carestream Dental recently partnered with Protected Trust to offer its software solutions users discounted rates for sending encrypted emails.
Protected Trust provides a secure email tool that integrates into Carestream’s practice management software, according to a press release. Emails must be encrypted when sending protected health information (PHI) to be HIPAA compliant, but most electronic channels aren’t as secure as they should be. Protected Trust gives Carestream Dental’s software users more options to ensure their data is safe and gets to the correct recipient while following patient privacy laws.
Features include a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement, read receipts and audit messages. Protected Trust also offers hosted email via Microsoft Office 365, managed IT services and secure backup and disaster recovery solutions.
