Straumann’s Emdogain, an oral-tissue regeneration product, now comes in a wound healing indication as part of oral surgical procedures and dental implant procedures.
Enhanced would healing reduces the risk of complications and pain after surgery, according to a press release, and also offers improved esthetics and patient satisfaction.
Straumann is reportedly the first company to launch a biologic material to enhance wound healing as part of dental implant procedures. Emdogain in the new indication will be launched in Europe first, with other regional markets to follow pending regulatory clearances.
