Formlabs recently introduced Dental SG, the first biocompatible resin for desktop 3D printing.
The certified biocompatible Class 1 material is primarily designed for surgical guide applications, according to a press release, and reportedly makes it possible to complete applications never seen before in desktop 3D printing, such as high-precision drill guides from digital scan data for implant surgery.
The material makes it possible for dental professionals to quickly move from a 3D model to a directly printed surgical guide. Dental SG is said to make implant surgery faster, more precise and more comfortable for the patient.
Dental SG is part of the company’s library of advanced materials for 3D printers and is compatible with the Form 2 3D printer.
