The 3Shape D2000 dental lab scanner recently received the Red Dot Product Design Award, an international distinction for high design quality.
The D2000 was selected by Red Dot’s 41 member jury that includes designers, design professors and specialist journalists, according to a press release. The experts assessed 5,214 entries from 57 countries for this year’s awards.
The panel assesses every entry live and on site according to specific criteria, such as degree of innovation, formal quality, functionality and ecological compatibility.
An awards ceremony for all 2016 Red Dot winners will be held on July 4. This year’s award-winning products will be on display at the Red Dot Design Museum Essen as part of the “Design on Stage” exhibit for four weeks before becoming part of the permanent exhibition.
