Implant Studio software from 3Shape now features a dedicated workflow for implant planning and surgical guide design for edentulous patients.
The software merges CT/Cone Beam CT imaging with 3D digital surface scans of the teeth and gingival situation, allowing dentists to evaluate bone density and nerve positions for prosthetic implant planning and surgical guide design, according to a press release.
The updated software enables dentists to treat edentulous patients by using just CBCT/CT scan data and dual scan protocol.
Implant Studio also features more than 20 functional improvements, including the ability to manually align scans, design gingiva-supported surgical guides, and a two-piece guide system. Surgical guides designed in the software are optimized for milling or 3D printing.
