DENTSPLY Implants and 3Shape recently formed a new collaboration that makes it possible for dentists to scan ATLANTIS abutments with the 3Shape TRIOS digital impression system, streamlining the workflow and helping to ensure efficient coordination between the dentist and the lab.
Clinicians can now take a color digital impression using the TRIOS scanner, analyze the scan and then send it to the dental technician, according to a press release. The dental technician then reviews the scan, creates model data and submits the order in ATLANTIS WebOrder. DENTSPLY then designs, manufactures and delivers the abutments so the technician can finalize the restoration and ship it to the clinician for placement.
The solution supports ATLANTIS abutments for cement and screw-retained-restorations. It also supports ATLANTIS Conus Abutments custom for friction fit, removable restorations.
