DENTSPLY International and Sirona Dental Systems will merge and will be known as DENTSPLY SIRONA.
The combined company will be the world’s largest manufacturer of dental products and technologies, according to a press release. The merger is seen as a natural fit by leaders of both companies because of Sirona’s prowess in the digital dental and equipment segments, and DENTSPLY’s expansive portfolio of materials and consumables. Going forward the company plans to focus on complementary products and systems to offer dentists and specialists end-to-end solutions and workflows for optimal patient care.
The company will be headquartered in York, Pa., but will also have offices around the globe with an international headquarters in Salzburg, Austria. The global company will include 15,000 employees. The combined company will have net revenue of approximately $3.8 billion before factoring savings related to synergies created by the merger.
