Capable of capturing high quality digital x-ray images, the ProSensor HD Intraoral Imaging System from Planmeca is designed with patient comfort and ease of use in mind.
A new CMOS chip is combined with a more accurate scintillator and a fiber-optic layer to produce digital x-rays with improved contrast, a better signal-to-noise ratio regardless of dose, and a theoretical resolution of 33 line pairs per millimeter, according to a press release. Rounded sensor edges offer patients increased comfort, and they are hermetically sealed to make infection control simpler.
The sensors are magnetically connected to the control box, making one handed use simple. They can be integrated with the ProX intraoral x-ray unit to make it easy to move the sensor between operatories, and the ProSensor HD sensors are compatible with both Windows and Mac PCs.
