Designed to provide clinicians with enhanced photography and case documentation capabilities, the new VELscope Vx Imaging Adapter and VELscope Photo System Application from LED Dental allow the VELscope Vx oral assessment system to be connected to an iPod Touch.
The new photo system includes a custom iPod Touch holder to connect the device to the VELscope Vx, and a new imaging application is designed to make it simple for clinicians to frame and capture tissue fluorescence and white-light images, according to a press release. By using the iPod’s network connectivity, the new system provides better performance than the previous camera system.
The photo application can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, and it automatically configures the iPod touch for the capture of fluorescence images when the adapter is connected to the VELscope Vx. When the VELscope Vx is removed from the adapter, the camera is reset for white-light photography.
