At the 2015 CDA South meeting Carestream Dental launched a pair of new digital imaging innovations with the debut of the CS 8100SC scanning cephalometric imaging system and the CS Adapt Module for the RVG 6200 digital sensor.
While not yet available for sale, the CS 8100SC scanning cephalometric imaging system is built on the same platform as the CS 8100 panoramic imaging system, allowing clinicians to add cephalometric imaging to their practice without requiring a large amount of physical space, according to a press release. The system offers image sizes of 26 x 24 cm, 18 x 24 cm, and 18 x 18 cm with multiple view options available.
A fast scan setting saves time, and the system provides sensors for both panoramic and cephalometric imaging. Dental practices that already have a CS 8100 imaging system will be able to upgrade to the CS 8100SC.
Designed to enhance the effectiveness of the RVG 6200 sensor, the CS Adapt module provides users with 40 filters in 10 filter families allowing clinicians to customize digital x-rays for optimal diagnostics. The software allows up to four filters to be set as defaults which makes them available with one click.
