Capable of cone beam, panoramic, cephalometric, and face scanning, the 3Shape X1 is a complete extraoral digital imaging solution.
Designed to complement the company’s dental CAD/CAM solutions while retaining the same open-architecture philosophy, the X1 is an open imaging system that easily integrates with 3Shape software and hardware systems but also exports images in a standard DICOM format to work with other solutions, according to a press release.
The X1 scanner was designed with image quality, reduced radiation doses and patient comfort in mind. Proprietary technology in the X1 reduces radiation doses, and a ScanComfort feature improves image accuracy without requiring the fixation of the patient’s head. The scanner features a modern, Scandinavian style design with ambient lighting to reduce patient stress, and an easy to clean, wooden chin rest.
The 3Shape X1 4-in-1 CBCT system is expected to be available in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2015 with plans to launch in the United States and the rest of the world in early 2016.
