New Dental Product: DWIO Intraoral Scanner from Dental Wings

New Dental Product: DWIO Intraoral Scanner from Dental Wings

Debuting at the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting and LMT Lab Day, the DWIO intraoral scanner from Dental Wings features a small scanning tip, novel scanning technology and a simple workflow for an easy digital transition.

The DWIO system is an open-architecture system for capturing digital impressions designed to allow clinicians to focus on their patients, according to a press release. The small scanning tip is easy to use to capture 3D images of intraoral anatomies using Multiscan Imaging technology. The system features 5-3D scanners working simultaneously to capture even the most challenging anatomies. The scanning handpiece is all-metal, lightweight and does not include any moving parts, and the system features a simple infection control protocol.

With files stored in an open STL format, the scanner will be compatible with a range of common indications. Files can be sent to a large number of dental labs, or exported to a range of chairside production systems, including Dental Wings’ DWOS CAD software.
