Planmeca Updates CAD/CAM Training and Certification Program

Planmeca Updates CAD/CAM Training and Certification Program

The CAD/CAM education and training program available through Planmeca University is being overhauled to provide enhanced opportunities for professional growth in the area of digital dentistry.

First launched by E4D in 2007 as the Chairside Dental Designer (CDD) program, this dental CAD/CAM training program is being renamed Certified in Digital Dentistry to better represent the evolving possibilities available via digital dental technologies, according to a press release. The program now includes subspecialties in Scanning, Designing and Finishing, with each specialty featuring its own educational requirements.

Including both online and hands-on educational components, the CDD program is available for both experienced digital dental practitioners and clinicians just starting out with the technology. Once a CDD certification has been earned there are annual renewal requirements to make sure professionals holding the title remain up to date on the rapidly evolving technology.
