Created to provide dental practices with a whitening option that can be as convenient for patients as over the counter options, Philips Zoom QuickPro can be applied in 5 minutes.
The new whitening system was announced during the recent California Dental Association meeting in San Francisco, and it will begin shipping in October. The whitening system can deliver up to 4 shades of whitening, and a study conducted by Philips Zoom found patients experienced almost no sensitivity.
The 5-minute application procedure includes isolation of the tooth surfaces, application of the Philips Zoom QuickPro whitening varnish which contains 20 percent hydrogen peroxide, and then application of a patent pending sealant. The patient can then leave the office, and after 30 minutes the sealant and whitening varnish can be rinsed or brushed off the teeth.
The Philips Zoom QuickPro system will be available to dentists for $44.99 per patient kit, and Philips is recommending a retail price of $124.99 with the service offered during routine prophylaxis appointments.
