Events Provide Training For Successfully Integrating Dental Sleep Medicine into the Practice
Melville, N.Y. — Henry Schein Dental, the U.S. dental business of Henry Schein, Inc. (NASDAQ: HSIC), the world's largest provider of health care products and services to office-based dental, animal health and medical practitioners, announced today a schedule of upcoming Sleep Complete™ Dental Sleep Medicine training programs taking place throughout the remainder of 2014.
Entitled “Saving Lives and Growing Your Practice through Dental Sleep Medicine – An Implementation Symposium,” the two-day program will provide dental practitioners and their teams with training on how to integrate and implement dental sleep medicine into their practices. Dental sleep medicine can empower practitioners to provide treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and improve the quality of life for their patients. According to research from The American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine,1 moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea can be four times as fatal when the sleep disorder is left untreated in the long-term.
Over the course of the program, attendees can earn up to 16 continuing education credits while learning about OSA and dental sleep medicine implementation. Topics include: Screening techniques for OSA; Oral Appliance Therapy selection for OSA; Oral Appliance design and fabrication; Office Systems and Workflows; Documentation, Medical Billing and Reimbursement; and Communicating with physicians and sleep laboratories.
