An update to CS Restore, the CAD software powering Carestream Dental’s CS Solutions chairside CAD/CAM system, provides users with improved crown morphology and alignment, along with new free form crown design tools.
The updated software provides greater cusp definition along with improved crown alignment and occlusion design, with automatic occlusion now providing a more precise cusp-fossa relationship, according to a press release. The software, which is designed to guide users through the crown design process, now provides better inlay and onlay proposals. Another new feature in the software allows users to remove adjacent teeth from the digital model when marking the margin of a digital impression.
The software now also permits greater customization of the design proposals with the addition of tools for smoothing, increasing or decreasing material and carving the crown design. The new tools are designed to allow for quick and precise adjustments to the restoration design.
