Designed to provide dental professionals with an easy to use electric handpiece motor, the iOptima from Bien-Air is controlled using an Apple iPod and connects to standard air tubing on the dental unit.
The system is designed to help improve practice efficiency with pre-programmed settings for both restorative and endodontic procedures, according to a press release. With custom settings including contra-angle, speed, torque and rotational direction, the iPod interface allows for simple upgrades to the control software, making new features available regularly. Set up requires nothing more than downloading the iOptima application and connecting the system to standard 4-hole tubing on a dental unit.
Settings and programs can be configured prior to a clinical procedure or during the case. With both auto-reverse and auto-forward settings, the system is ideal for endodontics. Powered by Bien-Air’s MX2 LED micromotor which automatically controls power, the system is designed for use with the Bien-Air Micro-Series contra-angle handpieces which are small and light for reduced hand fatigue.
