Created to provide a digital solution to the required storage of orthodontic study models, DDS Lab has launched OrthoVault, an online service that stores and manages digital scans of these models.
With the digital scans available for viewing 24 hours a day via a secure web portal, OrthoVault was created to make it easier to store, find and maintain study models for orthodontists and dentists, according to a press release. The digital models are stored online in a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted database that is regularly and redundantly backed up.
The service eliminates the need for physical storage of these models as the scanned digital models can be accessed at any time via OrthoViewer software which allows 3D manipulation and measurement of the models. If physical models are needed, 3D printed versions of the digital files can be ordered.
