The American Dental Association Joins Retro Craze with Flashback Tooth Day
Classic dental videos promote healthy tooth tips
Chicago — The American Dental Association (ADA) is jumping on the retro bandwagon by launching its own spin on the “Throwback Thursday” social media trend by posting public service announcements from the 1960s through the 1980s for Throwback Tooth Day.
The ADA’s newest campaign highlights its wealth of classic tooth tips on MouthHealthy.org, the ADA’s consumer website, and its YouTube channel. In addition, the ADA promotes Throwback Tooth Day (#TBT) on Facebook and Twitter.
"These retro video are fun to watch and help teach people about how important it is to take care of their dental health," said Dr. Ruchi Sahota, an ADA spokesperson and general dentist in Fremont, Calif. "They also showcase the ADA's longtime commitment to improving mouth health then and now."
As the featured videos roll out, the campaign will not only highlight the ADA’s public service announcements, it will also focus on targeted themes including Halloween videos featuring Clown Smiles, family nutrition videos during football season and a video warning of the dangers of smoking.
The #TBT campaign directs consumers back to MouthHealthy.org for the latest dental health care information from the ADA.
