BIOMET 3i Announces Winner of 10th Annual Richard J. Lazzara Fellowship in Advanced Implant Surgery

On the 10th anniversary of the award, Michael Fetner, DMD, MS, of the University of Florida, College of Dentistry was announced as the recipient of the Richard J. Lazzara Fellowship in Advanced Implant Surgery which is presented by BIOMET 3i and the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation.

Created to foster education and clinical experience in the latest dental implant techniques, the fellowship is a 12-month program presented to a recipient following completion of a periodontal training program or during the last six months of the periodontal program, according to a press release. The fellowship provides the honoree with a stipend as well as funding to offset the hosting institution’s overhead and administrative costs.

The fellow is selected via a competitive application process, and previous winners have come from around the globe. Past nominees and fellows will be honored by BIOMET 3i during the Lazzara Society Alumni Meeting in Philadelphia on Sept. 28.
