 Quality Measures for Preventing Dental Caries in Children Approved by Dental Quality Alliance

The Dental Quality Alliance (DQA), an organization of oral health stakeholders established by the American Dental Association, recently approved its first set of dental performance measures.

Dental Caries in Children: Prevention and Disease Management is a set of 10 tested and validated dental health care performance measures focused on use of services, prevention, treatment, oral evaluation, topical fluoride, sealant use, care continuity and cost, according to a press release. The DQA worked with the University of Florida Institute for Child Health Policy to evaluate and test the performance measures.

Created with the partnership behind the DQA, the first set of performance measures are designed to help improve the quality of dental care provided to children.
