American Dental Association, Mission of Mercy Seek Volunteers for Dental Charity Event in New Orleans

The American Dental Association is seeking 750 dental team volunteers to participate in a Mission of Mercy (MOM) charity dental clinic to be held Sunday Nov. 3, in New Orleans in conjunction with the 2013 ADA Annual Session.

The clinic aims to serve 1,000 people in need of dental care. The ADA is looking for dentists, team members, clerical and support staff to volunteer in a range of roles including triage services, diagnosis and treatment, support from lab technicians and office specialists, as well as logistics support which can be provided by non-dental professionals, according to a press release. Full and half day shifts are available, and volunteers do not need to be attending the ADA Annual Session.

The event also is being supported by the America’s Dentists Care Foundation and the Louisiana and New Orleans Dental Associations. The children’s portion of the event is sponsored by CareCredit and Give Kids A Smile.

For more information or to volunteer, visit ADA.org/MOM.
