The SoproCare intraoral camera from ACTEON North America operates in three different modes to provide intraoral imaging, caries detection and gingival inflammation detection.
The camera uses auto-fluorescence and selective chromatic amplification to enable clinicians to diagnose caries and provide periodontal follow-up with a system that also provides optimal patient communication, according to a press release.
In PERIO mode the SoproCare camera uses selective chromatic amplification to differentiate different types of tissue with different colors. This allows clinicians to note areas of inflammation as well as both new and old dental plaque. In CARIO mode the camera uses a different wavelength of light to highlight carious lesions. In DAYLIGHT mode the SoproCare provides intraoral imaging with a Macrovision setting allowing magnification of up to 110 times.
The SoproCare camera connects to a computer via a USB connection and is designed to be compatible with any imaging software.
