New Dental Product: Digital Provisional Restoration System from DWS

Designed to help practices automate the fabrication of long-term temporary restorations, the Digital Provisional Restoration System from DWS Additive Manufacturing includes the dfab tabletop 3D printer and the TEMPORIS class IIA light curable material.

The open-architecture system is compatible with the majority of intraoral digital impression scanners and accepts scans in the common .stl format, according to a product brochure. The scan file is imported into the system’s design software and converted into a building file which the dfab 3D printer uses to guide the additive manufacturing process.

Provisional restorations of up to four units can be printed and the TEMPORIS material is available in shades A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1 and BL3. The finished restorations can be placed almost immediately after printing, or they can be further enhances with the addition of light curing composites or light curing stains.
