Oral Cancer Prevention International and CDx Laboratories Merging to Become CDx Diagnostics

A pair of companies that offer clinical diagnostic tests designed to detect oral cancers have announced that they will merge and now do business under the name CDx Diagnostics.

The merger between Oral Cancer Prevention International and CDx Laboratories is being undertaken because the larger size of the combined firm will benefit the research, development and marketing of existing diagnostic tools as well as efforts to develop new tests, according to a press release.

The move will unite the companies’ tests for oral, laryngeal and esophageal cancers. New tests for liver, pancreatic and colon cancers are currently being developed. The company will continue to market and sell the OralCDx test which uses a brush biopsy and computer-assisted laboratory analysis to detect precancerous cells.
