Kerr’s OptiBond XTR Outperforms its OptiBond FL in 12-Month Clinical Trial

A recently completed 12-month clinical evaluation found Kerr’s OptiBond XTR performed as well or better than the company’s OptiBond FL without requiring the use of a phosphoric acid etchant.

The study was conducted by Dr. Bart Van Meerbeek at Catholic University in Leuven, Belgium, and involved 240 class V restorations bonded with either OptiBond XTR or OptiBond FL. The overall success rate for the OptiBond XTR restorations was 97.5% while the overall success rate for the OptiBond FL restorations was 94.8%, according to a press release.

Kerr has set up a landing page on the company website featuring the complete study details and results.
