GUIDOR Allograft uses Allowash XG® technology to achieve a Sterility Assurance Level of 10-6

Chicago – Sunstar Americas, Inc., a worldwide leader in oral health care, announces the expansion of its GUIDOR product line with the launch of GUIDOR Allograft.  Sunstar has partnered with LifeNet Health to add a trusted allograft bone product to complement its line of Guidor Matrix Barriers.

LifeNet Health is one of the world’s most trusted providers of bio-implants.  Since 1995, over 3 million bio-implants processed using Allowash Technology have been distributed by LifeNet Health, with no disease transmission.  “We are very pleased to partner with Sunstar because of their excellent reputation of providing high quality products with leading edge technology,” said Ralph Powers, DDS and Senior Product Manager at LifeNet Health.  LifeNet Health Allografts are the perfect complement to the GUIDOR Matrix Barrier and will help dental professionals provide excellent care to their patients.

Relaunched three years ago, the GUIDOR Matrix Barrier is a double sided, bioresorbable material composed of polylactic acids with acetyl tributyl citrate (a citric acid ester).  The two-layer matrix design stabilizes the wound site and aids in the regeneration and augmentation of jaw bone in conjunction with dental implant surgery.  Each layer has distinctive perforations that differentiate the size of the cells that can infiltrate the barrier.  Because the GUIDOR Matrix Barrier is resorbable, it eliminates the need for a second invasive surgery and aids in bone regeneration.

“The GUIDOR Matrix Barrier is a truly unique product that is now even easier to use because of the addition of the new GUIDOR Allograft product.  Together, these products provide what every clinician wants - an easy and predictable grafting solution,” said Richard Demke, DDS and Senior Director of Technology and New Product Development at Sunstar.

GUIDOR Allografts are available in mineralized cortical particulate, mineralized cancellous particulate and a 50/50 premixed blend of cortical/cancellous particles.  Each of these options helps maintain space and volume with a strong matrix structure which guides rapid bone regeneration.
