Artiste Nano Composite: Step-by-Step Technique

Artiste Nano Composite: Step-by-Step Technique

Here's a general overview of how to use Pentron's Artiste Nano Composite to create a free-hand direct veneer on a central incisor.

First choose a Base shade, which will become the dentin/body shade (similarly to doing a Class IV). It covers the entire facial surface.

To creating a veneer, bring the dentin/body shade to full contour in the cervical third, but leave room for the enamel shade by tapering the lingual in the incisal two-thirds. While tapering, define the mesial and distal angles. Light cure for 20 seconds (ten on each side).

Choose the corresponding enamel shade. Apply the clear optimal enamel material primarily in the incisal two-thirds to desaturate the color.

Shape the enamel to full contour. Create facial anatomy and adapt through dentin mammelons. Light cure labial and lingual for 20 seconds.

An optional step to enhance esthetics is to add a "halo" just along the incisal edge with Milky White incisal shade.

Trim back and adapt the halo. Perform gross and fine finishing.

The finished restoration. Note there is more saturation in the cervical third, desaturation as the incisal two-thirds is approached, and some degree of incisal translucency
