Tetric EvoCeram Case Study: Restoration of a Class II Lesion

Tetric EvoCeram Case Study: Restoration of a Class II Lesion

A 50-year-old female patient presented in our practice with a Class II lesion on the distal of tooth number 21. Restoration with Ivoclar Vivadent’s Tetric direct restorative materials, including Tetric EvoCeram Universal Composite and Tetric EvoFlow, was treatment planned.

To speed up the entire process and help create optimal contacts, Garrison Dental's ComposiTight 3D sectional matrix system and Wedge Wands were particularly helpful.

Here’s a pictorial of the case illustrating each step of the procedure:

A Class II lesion on the distal of tooth #21.

A Garrison FenderWedge was placed.

Facial view of the wedge in place.

A Class II preparation was created.

Garrison’s Wedge Wand ...
...and ComposiTight 3D matrix was placed.
Using the total-etch technique, phosphoric acid was applied to the cavity for 15 seconds.
Excite bonding agent was applied.
After light curing for 10 seconds, the bonding agent exhibits a shiny appearance.
Tetric EvoFlow flowable composite (Shade A1) is applied.
Then Tetric EvoCeram Shade A1 is applied.
Tetric Color (ochre) is applied with an endodontic file.
Excess composite is removed before light curing.
Here’s the restoration immediately after matrix removal.
The final result offers exceptional esthetics and…
and excellent shade match.
