Lab Gypsum Materials

Dental lab gypsum materials are used to create highly accurate model from a physical impression of a patient's teeth. The models are fabricated by pouring the gypsum material into the impression and allowing it to harden. There are a wide range of gypsums used in dentistry with different properties depending on how the models will be used. Some gypsums are ideal for use in sectioned models and dies, others are designed to be scanned for use in CAD/CAM dentistry, while other model materials are designed for use in vacuum-forming orthodontic appliances, mouth guards or other appliances. It is important to be sure your gypsum is properly set and be sure to properly label your models and dies so they stay with the correct case.

DescriptionPRIMA-ROCK has the highest compressive strength of any Whip Mix die material. Vacuum spatulation provides a smooth mix which flows readily. It's LeanRock is formulated specifically for laboratories who want to pour small batches (about 6) and have working models ready in 15 minutes. This Lean Rock XL5, ISO Type 5 die stone, offers increased expansion to compensate for shrinkage of vinyl polysiloxane and other rubber-based impression MICROSTONE's fine particle size and dense surface make it our finest general purpose laboratory stone. It is especially suited for processing acrylic RESINROCK XL5 has the same smoothness and high abrasion as in ResinRock. However, this ISO Type 5 die stone gives you increased expansion to
