DEXshield serves two purposes in the operatory as it functions as both an x-ray positioning ring and a radiation barrier that helps focus the beam and reduces patient radiation exposure by approximately 30%. It was designed to help increase efficiency by helping clinicians achieve proper sensor alignment and reducing retakes. Exclusively compatible with the DEXIS Platinum Sensor, DEXshield can be used to capture both bitewings and periapical radiographs.
