Product Name:

Mouthwatch Intraoral Camera

Manufacturer :

Mouthwatch

We have been using intraoral cameras for almost ten years now. We've seen a few brands come and go, and I've always had a few complaints:

  1. Hard to capture, store and recall images
  2. Resolution not good, color off
  3. Focal point too far away so you have to push up against opposing arch or off to the side to get a good shot of occlusal surfaces
  4. Price - most cameras are obscenely priced.

Along came MouthWatch USB cameras. I found them through a friend who saw them at one of the shows. We run Windows XP in our ops still (yes I know!). So it was hard to find someone that will support it still. I made a call and worked with tech support (pre-sales). I bought one to demo for a month and was blown away. After I worked out a few issues with my old, old, old OP computers, Brant at MouthWatch logged in and set it all up. It was simple. Images are amazing. I ended up buying new cameras for all my OPs and now have a box of old Suni cameras sitting under my desk slated for eBay.

The amazing things about MouthWatch are:

  1. They work with just about every software out there. We used to use Picassa but now switched to VixWin. Integration is ONE click away. Yes, one click.
  2. Did I mention the images are great? All the docs love them, and they are right there next to our x-rays in Vixwin.
  3. Plug-n-play.
  4. If you switch software in the future these cameras will likely work with the new software. Awesome!
  5. USB cord is long enough (but they do have extensions if you need them).
  6. Easy to wrap or use the sheath.
  7. Price is very, very fair. For the price of one of the competitors' cameras I bought 12 of MouthWatch. Sounds unreal, but they really did price it fairly. Now if my assistant drops and breaks it, I'm not going to have an aneurism.
  8. Focal point is perfect. Lighting is strong. Colors look great.
  9. I think you can even capture video but I haven't gotten to that yet.

I'm happy to share photos if you are curious. But I'm sure they have demo pics to send you. Call them. Ask your questions. You'll be amazed that a nice person will pick up the phone or call you back and work you through the new system.
