Debi Gerger, RDH, MPH

Debi’s professional experience spans numerous roles including clinician, educator, speaker, author, corporate consultant, and business owner. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene and Master of Public Health degree in Health Promotion
and Education from Loma Linda University and is currently pursuing a Doctoral of Management (DM) degree in Organizational Leadership. Her dissertation focus and topic is Leadership Characteristics Among Various Generations in a Volunteer Member Organization. She plans to publish, lecture, and author a motivational leadership book centered on the cultivation of key leadership characteristics necessary for growth and success in our profession. Debi is the Department Chair of Dental Hygiene at West Coast University. Her teaching goal is to transfer knowledge, skills, and professional values to future dental hygienists in preparation for the various roles in the profession. She also enjoys providing lifelong learning continuing education courses on the topics of Pediatric Care, Dental Professionals Against Violence, Tobacco Cessation and Related Issues, and Oral Pathology. She is an active member of ADHA and CDHA serving as the associate Journal editor. She recently completed a four year commitment to the California First Smiles project with the goal of providing education and training for dental and medical professionals on the prevention of Early Childhood Caries.
